UNDERHILL, Vt. (WCAX/Gray News) – Police say an 18-year-old man found stuck under a car in a Vermont high school parking lot was working on his car when the jack collapsed.
Vermont State Police were called to Mount Mansfield Union High School in Jericho about 4 p.m. Thursday for a report of a person who appeared to be stuck underneath a vehicle in the parking lot, WCAX reports.
Troopers immediately began to render aid to the 18-year-old man identified as Silas Salyer, of Underhill. Salyer was rushed to the hospital in Burlington, where police say he later died.
Police say Salyer was working on his car in the high school parking lot when the jack holding up the vehicle collapsed.
Investigators say the death is not considered suspicious.
