DENMARK, Wis. (WBAY) – Major progress was made Friday to restore power for homes and businesses across northeast Wisconsin. However, there are still about 30,000 customers who don’t have electricity as of yet, and for some, it could stretch into Saturday.

Utility crews have worked continuously since Tuesday night, when the spring snowstorm snapped power lines, and damaged equipment over the course of several hours.

WPS and We Energies say that they’ve already restored power to about 190,000 customers affected by this spring storm.

It’s a waiting game for people living in a Denmark subdivision, one of the many neighborhoods that have been without power since Wednesday. Homeowners there say they’re doing what they can to stay warm and preserve food in the meantime.

“We got the generator and we’ve got everything we need, the necessities,” said Fabian Van Dehei.
