Coast Guard helicopter rescues injured man on jetty: Video

​The Coast Guard sent a boat and helicopter crew to the scene and were able to fly the man to an area hospital.

GALVESTON, Texas — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a man Friday who was injured after falling while walking on a jetty near Galveston.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office requested help from the Coast Guard around 3:20 p.m. after a 28-year-old man reportedly fell on the North Jetty and hurt his leg and back.

The Coast Guard sent a boat and helicopter crew to the scene and were able to fly him to an area hospital.

The rescue was caught on video from the helicopter.
