ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Fulton County Superior Court Chief Judge Ural Glanville has a motto:

“A forewarned judge is a happy judge.”

Glanville has not been a happy judge lately.

That’s because acclaimed rapper Young Thug’s already historically long trial just keeps getting longer

and longer

and longer.

That’s why Glanville – who also holds the rank of Brigadier General, Chief Judge in the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals, and has served as a commanding general in the NATO Rule of Law Support Mission/Rule of Law Field Force-Afghanistan – has laid down new rules he hopes will move the trial along more briskly.

First and foremost, Fulton County prosecutors and defense attorneys should be ready to proceed at 8:45 a.m. on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays for the rest of the trial. Glanville is reserving the right to hold court on weekends as well.
