Maine (WABI) – UMaine’s Undiscovered Maine club is helping revitalize a small town with their pilot Sustainable Ecosystem Economic Development model, or SEED.

“By creating a sustainable ecosystem of partners, we can work collaboratively, a small town” Faculty Advisor, Dr. Nory Jones said.

The town manager of Fort Fairfield, Timothy Goff agreed to work with the program six months ago when he first started the position.

“Any opportunity that we have to collaborate with other people, to take a look at our community and give us some advice and some direction and some energy is a good opportunity, and it’s been better than expected” Goff said.

The project aims to transform Fort Fairfield back to the vibrant thriving community it once was.

“For us, it really is about what can we leverage that we have and build on what we have and make it better” explained Goff.
