Mother of N.C. A&T student killed in hit-and-run speaks out [Video]

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A North Carolina family is mourning the loss of their youngest daughter.

21-year-old N.C. A&T State University junior Xiomara Moore died in a tragic hit-and-run early Saturday morning. 

WFMY News 2 spoke to her mother and a close family friend who said her light would shine on.

Moore’s family and friends said she was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Moore spent her free time volunteering with children and aspired to be a nurse. 

She juggled community service efforts as she studied Health Science Management at N.C. A&T.

Her mother Carona Moore said she is relying on faith as she grieves the loss of her only daughter.
