No new trial for Rudy Giuliani in Fulton County defamation case [Video]

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The man once known as America’s mayor has lost his bid for a new trial in his defamation case against two former Fulton County election workers.

On Monday, U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell rejected a motion by Rudy Giuliani to dismiss the $148 million verdict handed to him last year.

Giuliani filed for bankruptcy after the verdict came down in favor of Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, who were alleged by Giuliani of having engaged in ballot tampering in an election that resulted in Joe Biden becoming the first Democrat since Bill Clinton in 1992 to win Georgia – or any other deep Southern state – in a presidential election.

Giuliani, along with former President Donald Trump and 12 others, remain under indictment in Fulton County, on August 2023 charges they allegedly engaged in a criminal, racketeering-like attempt to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election.
