WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Edward Teach Brewing announced on April 19 that it has dismissed its lawsuit against former employee Erik Peterson, who was accused of putting QR codes on ETB’s products at local stores.

Peterson made a statement admitting to tampering with the products and apologizing to the brewery.

ETB gave the following statement:

“We accept and appreciate Mr. Peterson’s apology. We know that, like many others, he was misled by Madonna Nash’s false and defamatory Facebook posts. This incident has damaged our business and hurt our employees and their families. We hope it makes everyone think twice about believing unverified accusations online.”
