ROCHESTER, Minn.-A traveling black history exhibit, “Still We Rise: Rochester’s Black Legacy”, held a special panel at the Rochester Area Foundation on Friday, April 19, to talk about the exhibit’s journey through the Rochester community and address the accomplishments and struggles of the city’s black community in the past and the present.

Following an incident of hate speech at Century High School earlier this week, one of the topics of the panel was combating hate speech.

The panel included a variety voices from throughout the city, including artists, business owners, and community leaders, who came to share their perspectives on a variety of topics about Rochester’s history, the struggle for black residents to become home owners, and how to have productive dialogue on race.
