Marshall County murder victims remembered for good mood and contagious smile [Video]

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (KCRG) – A community is in mourning after two of their own were found murdered last Friday.

At around 1:45 a.m. on April 19, sheriff’s deputies were sent to 2645 182nd Street as part of a welfare check. That’s where they found the bodies of 33-year-old Frances Gasca and 28-year-old Mario Murillo.

Gasca’s older sister Vanessa Garcia says Gasca moved to Iowa 14 years ago and has been building her life in Marshall County ever since. She says that her sister always had a lot of energy and was always in a good mood.

”I just want you guys to know, like everybody, that she was a mother and a sister. She was deeply loved.”

Garcia says as she is struggling to come to terms with Gasca’s death, she is trying to remember how her sister lived her life.
