Jewelry thief who targeted older women in NC sentenced [Video]

ARDEN, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said a man has been sentenced to prison after a series of break-ins in western North Carolina.

Randall Paul Penland Jr., 47, is accused of targeting the homes of older women in the Arden and Fairview communities, breaking in when they weren’t home, and stealing jewelry.

Penland was on parole at the time.

He was sentenced to between 40 and 57 months in prison for larceny and attempted larceny. He is in the Department of Adult Corrections where he is also completing the remainder of his sentence for a habitual felon conviction.
