While Donald Trump slogs through his criminal trial, griping and complaining the whole way, the rest of the world — including the presidential campaign and his other court cases — keeps moving.

He’s recently received the bad (for Trump) news that he can’t put lawsuits from people harmed by the events of January 6th, 2021, on hold while the Supreme Court decides whether a former president has absolute immunity. On Tuesday, Judge Amit Mehta granted new deadlines.

Trump had asked for extra time to file certain documents, and the other parties did not oppose this. Law & Crime reports:

“Midday Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta granted the unopposed request in a minute order entry, setting deadlines to May 10 for a protective order proposal and May 15 for his immunity defense.”

These cases were brought by Members of Congress and law enforcement who suffered trauma when Trump’s fans attacked the Capitol. They seek …
