Woman hit, killed by semitruck in Fairfield [Video]

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — A woman was hit and killed by a semitruck in Fairfield early Wednesday morning, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

Police were called to the 2100 block of Cadenasso Drive around 5:15 a.m. for the crash. 

Police say a semitruck driver called them to the area after getting ready to leave the parking lot he had been in overnight. He stopped and called 911 after hitting a woman, according to a press release.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and an investigation is ongoing, police say.
