Legislators set to consider camera enforcement aid to help end exhibition driving [Video]

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – WBRC is On Your Side with the latest efforts to end the issue of exhibition driving in your community.

City and state leaders are now working to give law enforcement more tools to find and punish those participating in the dangerous driving. The new bill would allow police to use cameras in an effort to crack down on the dangerous driving.

Bill sponsor, and former Birmingham Assistant Police Chief Allen Treadaway, says the cameras will be a force multiplier and send a strong message to those getting behind the wheel.

“This type of behavior is putting lives in danger and the violators have to be caught. So, we are adjusting to them and you are going to see many more arrests with adding this extra component to this piece of legislation.”
