Secret Service, Milwaukee officials release RNC security plan [Video]

With roughly three weeks until the big event, Secret Service officials joined leaders from the city of Milwaukee on Friday to announce the security zones for the 2024 Republican National Convention.Months of planning will come to a fruition next month as thousands of people arrive in Milwaukee for the RNC.Downtown Milwaukee will be split into two security zones.The red zone with the strictest security surrounds Fiserv Forum as well as the Baird Center. This zone will only be open to pedestrians with RNC tickets or credentials, such as delegates, volunteers or media.In the broader yellow zone, the public will be allowed from Cherry Street to Clybourn and from 9th Street to the river. All vehicles must go through one of five checkpoints.Officials also announced the designated protest areas today.
