Boston rolls out grant program to revitalize city’s nightlife [Video]

Boston’s nightlife scene is set to get a long-awaited boost of support from City Hall.The Office of Nightlife Economy announced Wednesday it will be doling out grants to support a diverse array of nighttime programming.Using $250,000 worth of American Rescue Plan Act money, the city will dole out $10,000 grants for the programming. The application is open through May 28. All funded events will support events that are accessible, showcase cultural expression, provide multigenerational social interaction, are alcohol-free, promote socializing during the weekday, or are aimed at the under-20 crowds. Director of Nightlife Economy, Corean Reynolds, said in a press release the money is intended to revitalize the city’s nightlife, which has long faced challenges.
