The indictments are part of a grand jury investigation that began in January.

The indictment of Arredondo, unsealed on Friday, charges him with 10 counts of Endangering/Abandoning a Child. 

Texas law says that a person is guilty of Abandonment or Endangerment of a Child if they intentionally abandon the child in any place under circumstances that exposes the child to an unreasonable risk of harm.  

The indictment of Adrian Gonzales has not yet been unsealed as of Friday morning and will be unsealed when Gonzales surrenders to police. 

Arredondo was employed as the Chief of Police for the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) during the Robb Elementary School shooting on May 24, 2022.
