Florida man working inside cement mixer dies after it turns on [Video]

CANTONMENT, Fla. (WEAR) — A Florida man is dead after a work accident involving a cement mixer Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. at Foley Products Company in Cantonment. According to Escambia County, a man was working in a cement mixer when it was turned on. He then became entangled inside of it.

The county initially said he suffered traumatic injuries and needed to be extricated from the machine. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

We’re waiting for the proper authorities to do what they need to for their investigative pieces. Once they’re done and turn the scene back over to us, we’ll remove the victim and go from there,” said Eric Gilmore, Escambia County Public Safety Director.

Escambia County Sheriff’s Office’s Crime Scene Unit was on scene for around an hour.
