Former Illinois guard Sencire Harris commits to WVU [Video]

West Virginia University men’s basketball coach Darian DeVries added his first Power-Five transfer of the offseason Sunday.

Former Illinois guard Sencire Harris announced his intentions to play for the Mountaineers in a social media post Sunday afternoon. Harris, a former four-star prospect out of high school, took a non-injury-related redshirt year this past season after playing in all 33 games for the Illini as a freshman.

In his freshman season, the 6-foot-4, 160-pound guard averaged 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

He was the No. 88 overall prospect in the high school Class of 2022 rankings by the recruiting services consensus index after leading St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron, Ohio) to a state championship while averaging 20.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.8 steals as a senior.
