Glendale high school student recovering after car accident [Video]

GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Mountain Ridge High School senior Jett Weinstein is not letting his limitations get in the way.

In February, Weinstein and a fellow classmate were headed back from Flagstaff when a guardrail went through the car.

The other student passed away in the accident, and Weinstein had one of his legs amputated and is currently wheelchair-bound.

“My whole life is different. It’s definitely hard—a lot of pain. A lot of nerve pain I get daily almost,” Weinstein said.

But now, just three months later, Weinstein has returned to school and was able to join them for one of their final senior sendoffs.

“When I saw him out here with everybody, it’s just so cool because nobody expected it,” said Weinstein’s friend Ryland Sands.

As part of the school’s tradition, senior boys create a dance to perform in front of the school. Weinstein performed his own moves with special choreography, which the other senior boys coordinated.
