Matthew Matulich of Buras arrested for Jan. 6 Capitol riots [Video]

​The man was identified as 34-year-old Matthew Matulich of Buras.

PLAQUEMINES PARISH, La. — FBI New Orleans says they arrested a Plaquemines parish man for charges related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

The man was identified as 34-year-old Matthew Matulich of Buras. He was arrested in Venice, and he will have to appear in the Eastern District of Louisiana court.

Matulich is charged with the following misdemeanor offenses:

  • Theft of government property 
  • Knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority
  • Disordley conduct in a restricted building or grounds
  • Entering or remaining in the gallery of either House of Congress
  • Disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, 
  • Parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building

Several other Louisiana residents have been arrested during the FBI investigation. 

Charles Tyler Himber was arrested in Golden Meadow, La., in February on charges related to his conduct during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
