Monticello high schoolers drive tractors to school for FFA Week [Video]

MONTICELLO, Ill. (WCIA) — Many teenagers drive a car to school, but on Wednesday, some Monticello High School students pulled up in something different.

They’re celebrating National FFA Week. Several students participated by driving their tractors to school.

Senior Wyatt Vaughan said it’s a cool experience to be a part of, because it’s spreading awareness of the importance of agriculture.

“We’ve got school activities planned for the entire week. Tonight’s actually section volleyball where all the FFA sections around here, we all go, we play volleyball together,” Vaughan said. “It’s a really fun time. And the rest of the week — tomorrow we have root beer floats during lunch, a talent show, and Friday is American Day, so wear whatever USA clothes you want.”
