More than 1K DTE Energy customers without power in Lapeer County after line of storms [Video]

LAPEER COUNTY, MI – More than 1,000 DTE Energy customers in Lapeer County are without power on Tuesday, June 25, following a line of thunderstorms packing high winds and rain.

The DTE outage map shows 1,863 customers without power in Lapeer County, with a large portion of the total located south of Lapeer.

Hazardous weather outlooks have been issued for several counties in mid-Michigan and southeast Michigan by the National Weather Service.

Wind gusts of more than 40 miles per hour, strong enough to knock down tree limbs, were observed, according to the National Weather Service.

Power is expected to be restored for many of the Lapeer County customers by 3 p.m. Tuesday.

There are 7,844 customers without power in DTE’s total coverage area from Michigan’s Thumb to southeast Michigan.
