WASHINGTON (TND) — New book tours, speaking events and poll numbers already point to a potentially wild race for the White House in 2024. The ongoing spate of appearances by high-profile politicians may also indicate the odds of a possible rematch.
President Joe Biden made the trip to Capitol Hill Thursday afternoon for a meeting with Senate Democrats to energize their efforts. That comes after comments to House members suggesting that more polarizing Republican opponents entering the race will only help Democrats’ chances in the next election.
“A little bit more Marjorie Taylor Greene and a few more and you’re going to have a lot of Republicans running our way. Isn’t she amazing?” Biden said with a sarcastic tone and an eye roll at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference Wednesday.
