Putney’s Alicia Dana secures third Boston Marathon win in women’s hand cyclist division [Video]

Vermont and Northern New York have become quite the hot bed for elite hand cyclists, and the regions depth in the division was on full display in Boston during a sunny Marathon Monday.Putney’s Alicia Dana won her third Boston Marathon in as many tries after posting a blazing 1:15:20 time to beat out her 2023 performance by two minutes and 55 seconds. The 55-year-old was trailed by South Burlington’s Edie Perkins and Keeseville’s Devann Murphy.”I always enjoy Boston,” said Dana after the race. “I knew what to expect and I feel pretty pleased with my time.” The three-time Paralympian now turns to the rest of her world cup schedule as she looks to secure a spot on Team USA for the summer games in Paris.Murphy is a well-known name in the North Country, after having placed multiple times in the women’s hand cyclist division.Murphy is back for her 7th Boston …
