Rapid City woman shares experience volunteering in Israel [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – On April 13, Iran launched approximately 170 drones, 120 ballistic missiles, and 30 cruise missiles into Israel in retaliation to the Israeli Air Strike on April 1. Since the October 7, 2023, attacks, Israel has been one of the most volatile places in the world.

One Rapid City woman Luanne Uriel says over the last several months she grew tired of just sitting and watching the conflict continue.

“I am a dual American-Israeli citizen. Haven’t lived in Israel for quite a long time but I have family and friends there and have been concerned and I wanted to do something to help,” Uriel said.

Uriel spent two and a half weeks in March as a volunteer assisting Israel Defense Force soldiers.
