ROME, N.Y. — The skies over Rome are about to be lit up with the glow of fireworks and L.E.D. lighting.
The historic Paul Revere sign will be lit during a celebration on the Fourth of July.
The Revere Copper Product’s historic 73-year-old neon sign of Paul Revere riding his horse came down in March and caught the attention of the Rome community.
The neon horse and rider have been replaced with L.E.D. lighting.
It’s more durable, and uses environmentally friendly materials, while also keeping the nostalgic look.
Mike O’Shaughnessy is Revere Copper Products President, CEO, and chairman of the board.
“Although we have newer technology for the lighting, it was critical for us that the lighting look like the vintage historical lighting. If the original sign was in copper, we wanted it to be in copper. We’re Revere Copper,” O’Shaughnessy said.
