Sen. Mike Braun pulls out of Tuesday’s GOP gubernatorial debate [Video]

INDIANAPOLIS — Senator and Indiana Gubernatorial candidate Mike Braun will not be participating in a GOP gubernatorial debate on Tuesday evening, meaning only five of the six candidates will be involved in the last debate before next month’s primary election.

According to a release from the Indiana Debate Commission, U.S. Senator Mike Braun (R-Ind.) pulled out of the Indiana Debate Commission’s 2024 debate Monday night because the senator will be in Washington D.C. to take part in a vote. The release did not specify which measure the senator will be voting on.

The commission added that there was still a possibility that Braun could return in time to participate in the debate if the voting finished on time, which is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in the nation’s capital. Tuesday’s event marks the final debate before the primary vote on May 7.
