SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Xcel Energy customers in the Sioux Falls area reported widespread power outages Thursday morning.
According to Xcel Energy’s power outage map, these outages included areas such as Centerville, Canton, Worthing, Lennox, Chancellor, Harrisburg and southern Sioux Falls
UPDATE: According to Xcel Energy, the cause of the outage was an animal contact getting into electrical equipment. The outage began at 6:59 a.m. and restoration was complete at 7:38 a.m. 8,483 customers were affected.
