Westlake Community Services Center begins monthly luncheons [Video]

WESTLAKE, Ohio — The Westlake Community Services Center is now offering monthly luncheons as part of its rebooted Engage, Thrive, Connect (ETC) program.

Approximately 30 people attended the first luncheon June 28, held in the center’s Gathering Hall.

They were joined by volunteer patrons who are regulars at the center. These volunteers help new attendees acclimate to the community.

According to Director Lydia Gadd, ETC was reintroduced by popular demand from last year’s participants.

“The program offers a supportive environment for individuals who have experienced significant losses and are looking to rebuild their social networks,” she said.

She said previous attendees valued ETC for “providing a sense of community and a place to start over on an even playing field.”

The program now includes two monthly meetings: one activity-focused gathering (such as the recent drumming activity) and one luncheon dedicated to socializing.
