The Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Samuel Dubik Mahama has debunked reports that the Ministry of Energy was disconnected from the national grid for owing for power supplied.
Mr. Mahama intimated that reports of the Ministry’s disconnection are just examples of the few innuendos thrown into the media sphere in an attempt to distract the revenue mobilization drive of the power distribution company.
Appearing on the Point of View on Citi TV, Mr. Mahama disclosed that government establishments owe 15 percent out of the GH¢5.7 billion it aims to recover within a month.
He emphatically disclosed that “The Ministry of Energy doesn’t owe us and the Ministry is exclusively on prepaid meters and that is the case with most of the MMDAs and state-owned enterprises.”
