State police said the driver lost control of the car for an unknown reason, causing it to turn over. Five people were inside, with ages ranging from 19 to 21.

WILLINGTON, Conn. — A young woman is dead and four people were taken to the hospital after a car crash in Willington Saturday night, according to Connecticut State Police.

Based on preliminary information, state police said they determined the crash happened at 10:12 p.m. when the driver of a Subaru Legacy, heading south on River Road near Adamec Road, lost control of the car, causing it to turn over. Five people were inside the car at the time, with ages ranging from 19 to 21 years old.

One of the passengers, identified by state police as Maria Damata, 19, of Bethel, died after suffering from life-threatening injuries.
