TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – Tuscaloosa Police say a man has been charged with murder after a man died in the hospital from gunshot wounds sustained Wednesday night.
Officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department were dispatched to the 3100 block of 2nd Avenue for a shooting where they found a teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
The Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) was called to the scene where, after an investigation, Mikal Rashaun Kirkman, 20, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with murder.

Kirkman is being held without bond, per Aniah’s Law.
Police say that they have identified the victim but are not releasing his identity yet.
Police say there’s nothing to suggest this shooting is related to any of the recent shootings in Tuscaloosa over the past week.
