TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – WTVA 9 News has shared with you a week’s worth of stories on the tornadoes that tore through northeast Mississippi on April 28, 2014.
In our finale, we spoke with one of the many government leaders called to help move a major city forward following a devastating day.
Jason Shelton is a dad today, the father of a three-year-old. However, 10 years ago he was in the first of his two terms as Tupelo’s mayor.
“Both are very rewarding, but obviously, if I had to choose between the two, I’m going to pick being a dad every single day of the week,” Shelton said.
Shelton was in his office at City Hall when the tornado hit.
