CASA GRANDE, AZ (AZFamily) — A 2-year-old boy has died after a “tragic accident” while playing in a bounce house near Casa Grande over the weekend, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office says.
Around 5 p.m. on Saturday, PCSO deputies were called to an area near Bel Air Road and Rosemead Drive, just north of McCartney Road.
The sheriff’s office says several children were playing in a bounce house there before a strong gust of wind blew it into the air and over to a neighboring lot.
The toddler was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
PCSO said another child was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. We’re told she has a broken arm.
Phoenix Firehouse 25 posted on Instagram saying the 2-year-old is the son of a Phoenix firefighter who is a valued member of their team.
They said the couple is expecting a child next month.
Phoenix Fire officials say he works with both Phoenix Firehouse 40 and 25.
