DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — 22 young men and women at Dothan High School were joined by their fellow friends and family on Monday, as they signed to enlist in the United States Military.
18 students signed with the Alabama Army National Guard, two signed with the Marines, one signed Active Duty United States Army, and one signed with the United States Air Force.
“I’ve always kind of had an interest in the military, my grandfather served, and the tuition benefits that the Army offers are very nice,” James Howell said.

After Monday’s signings, Dothan High School has the most Alabama National Guardsman enlistments.
“I knew I wanted to join some branch of the military, but also wanted to go to school,” Mary Lynn Bryant said. “Once I figured out I could do both, the Army National Guard was a good option.”
