RAPID CITY, S.D. – Over 400 vendors, including pop-up small businesses, opened shop at The Monument in Rapid City for the annual Black Hills Home Builders Association’s Home Show, providing to future and current homeowners alike.

Started in the 1980s, this event has been a staple in the region for many years, offering something for everyone, whether they’re first-time homeowners or seasoned property owners.

Amber Underwood, president of the association, said that there is a lot of innovative and new techniques for home building this year, “Big things right now is energy efficient…whether it’s changing, outlining weather change, insulation, maybe it’s upgrading your windows…that’s what people are talking about right now is how to save money,” Underwood explained.

Underwood noted there seems to be record-breaking attendance for the 2024 show, with a noticeable trend towards remodeling projects.
