ROCHESTER, Minn. – Over 100 protestors gathered right outside city council chambers voicing their concerns of tearing down the dam.

The group called Friends of Silver Lake is challenging the city wanting to remove the Silver Lame Dam and build a new one about 700 feet north.

Friends of Silver Lake is making several accusations like city staff misrepresenting facts to obtain money from the state.

From concerns about flood safety to preserving a piece of Med City history, protestors expressed their worries to city council Monday night.

The protestors want City Council to slow down the process of obtaining the necessary state funding to build the dam and listen to their concerns. The group invited Public Works and city council members to sit down and talk about the dam proposal.
