Construction could take around six months to complete.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. – A new solar project is being proposed on 35 acres in what’s known as Butte Valley.

That’s located in the Mesilla Valley Road area off Durham Pentz Road, east of Butte College. Pivot Energy said they plan to develop a five-megawatt solar project to bring power to over 1,300 homes.

In a letter from the solar company, it said the project will generate clean energy, and benefit local taxpayers.

Pivot Energy said it will be hosting a community meeting to hear from those impacted, but some of the neighbors tell Action News Now they canceled the one originally planned for Wednesday and they have not rescheduled.

If approved, the project would be located on 35 acres on Mesilla Valley Road.

Some neighbors want to make sure their voices are heard before anything moves forward.
