The Buffalo Bills made a shocking trade with the Kansas City Chiefs at the end of the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, sliding back four spots in the deal.
The Chiefs wanted speedy Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy (4.22 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine) and gave the Bills pick no. 95 in the deal, allowing Buffalo to move into the third round. Bills general manager Brandon Beane lost his third-rounder in last season’s trade with the Green Bay Packers for cornerback Rasul Douglas.
Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz reported immediately after the deal and selection that one AFC general manager sent him a text message with his reaction. It only included two words: “FU** me.”
Worthy is an undersized pass catcher but he has blazing speed. Some fans were frustrated with the move because the idea of giving the Chiefs their next big weapon didn’t sit right.
