Israel Rafah Attack: Hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu again vowed to carry out the ground invasion in Rafah, France and Egypt, requested Tel Aviv not to go forward with its plan. This came after the United States and the United Kingdom, two important Western allies of the Jewish nation, also requested it to abandon the idea of such an offensive.
Foreign Minister of France Stephane Sejourne arrived in Egypt on Wednesday to meet his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri, for a discussion on the pressing gulf issue. Following his meeting the French Minister said that the truce deal between Hamas and Israel still needed some more work.
“We came to coordinate our efforts for a truce. The message given by France and its Arab partners in the region is that Israel pulls back on this offensive in Rafah,” he said.
