Alabama has a new top teacher.State education leaders held an event in Montgomery tonight at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival to announce the 2024-2025 Alabama Teacher of the Year.Four teachers were in the finals after being selected from a group of more than 150 highly-skilled educators, stated a news release.A judging committee held extensive interviews with all four finalists, and Gov. Kay Ivey announced on social media that fourth-grade teacher Deborah Stringfellow of Elmore County Schools is the 2024-2025 Alabama Teacher of the Year.The governor was also proud to announce Vestavia Hills High School Freshman Campus Teacher Kira Aaron as the Alabama Alternate Teacher of the Year.”Our state’s educators are top-notch, and I’m proud of their work in leading the way for our students,” Ivey said in a social media post.A moment of joy: News We Love
