ALABASTER, Ala. (WBRC) – Officials in Alabaster have arrested one man after they say he committed multiple crimes involving a juvenile.
Alabaster police arrested 22-year-old Rafael Paredes Panameno after detectives were given information regarding a missing juvenile from Georgia that was believed to be in the Shelby County area. While conducting their search, detectives located Panameno and the missing juvenile. Officials say the situation stemmed from an inappropriate relationship that began online.
According to authorities, Panameno has been charged with the following:
- Traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act
- Rape second degree
- Sodomy second degree
- Unlawful possession of a pistol
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Unlawful possession of marijuana
Panameno is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on a $167,000 bond.
