CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Clemson Police Department said an app will be rolling out at more bars in Tiger Town to crack down on fake identification.
Police are teaming up with the City of Clemson, Clemson University, software company Intellicheck, and local business owners to utilize the app Age ID in more locations. Tiger Town Tavern has been using the program for years, which scans and verifies driver’s licenses, and said it has been a big deterrent for underage drinking.
“We’ve been using the system for several years now and it has made a huge difference for us,” Cameron Farish, owner of Tiger Town Tavern, said. “We feel like we’re a little family down here and we’ve had a lot of operators, everybody’s gotten on board, and this is going to be good for the city and good for our industry.”
