LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — An archer from Christian Academy of Indiana won the state tournament on Saturday.
Caleb Gedney, a junior, placed first out of 2,130 archers in the National Archery in Schools Program state tournament in Indianapolis. Gedney scored a personal best 293 out of 300 points to win the tournament.
“Caleb really went in with an amazing performance by setting the expectations and maintaining focus throughout the tournament,” CAI archery coach Erick Hall said in a news release.
According to a news release, Gedney is now ranked in the top .5% of NASP high school male archers in the United States.
“I know my aim point,” Gedney said. “It’s about repetition: I focus and repeat the exact same movements every time.”
Gedney will represent CAI at the Eastern National Tournament in Louisville on May 8-11.
Eli Rademacher and Oakley Morgan also competed for CAI in the state tournament.
