A six-hour traffic enforcement operation was recently conducted across the Southcentral. In that time, more than 500 drivers were pulled over for speeding and other unsafe driving behaviors. State Troopers say 271 citations were issued, along with nearly 200 more warnings.

Fifteen firefighters from the Girdwood Fire Company are attending classes at the Anchorage Regional Fire Training Center through June. The department says the training helps increase its capacity to serve our Girdwood community.
