LUMBERTON, N.C. (WMBF) – Authorities have identified the man killed in an early Friday morning shooting as 27-year-old Charles Bethea.
The Lumberton Police Department said officers responded to reports of a person shot just before 12:30 a.m. on East 21st Street.
When police arrived they found the victim inside with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was then taken to a hospital with what authorities described as “life-threatening injuries.”
Police say Bobby Jones, of Lumberton, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
No further details were immediately available, but an investigation is ongoing.
