TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — A new controversy is stemming from the arrests of dozens of Pro-Palestinian protesters at ASU over the weekend.

According to the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) Arizona, four ASU students had their hijabs forcibly removed by ASU police.

A video showing part of the said incident was shared with Arizona’s Family by CAIR-AZ.

David Chami, an attorney and volunteer board member for CAIR-AZ, said there was no legitimate reason for officers to search her.

He added that since the student had been restrained, a female officer could have conducted the search in private instead of out in the open by four male officers.
