Authorities coordinate to fight forest fires in Tekax [Video]

The three levels of government are coordinating to control two large forest fires located in the Kancab-Kantemó and Nohalal areas, as well as establishing the appropriate strategies to mitigate the fire.

The so-called Technical Operational Group, GTO, of the State Council for the Prevention and Fighting of Fires of the State of Yucatán met at the Municipal Palace of Tekax to establish strategies to combat these.

The fire located in the Kancab-Kantemó section, which affects the Puuc State Biocultural Reserve, has been controlled through brigades from the National Forestry Commission (Conafor), state Civil Protection, and municipal government since the beginning.
