BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Many go out to pick up trash on or around Earth Day.
The area around Bangor Mall has seen a good share of litter and Bangor Beer decided to clean some up along with anyone willing to help in exchange for a free pizza.
“Probably triple the turnout this year. So, quite a significant up tick from last year. Last year was mostly just staff, and people actually drove by and saw what we’re doing and pulled over and asked if they could help. They didn’t even see the posters or the guarantee of free pizza,” said Bangor Beer Company’s Tim Lo.
“A lot of Dunkin cups that are just like plastic and torn to shreds. Also, I think we have seen a lot of signage coming from the mall, which is a little disturbing.” stated Ella Siren, volunteering at the cleanup.
